(f)ragments is a scholar's site devoted to advanced research in rhetorical and communication theory. To the left is a photographic representation of the perpetrator, Michael Calvin McGee. His is a site that leans to the left, although most left-leaning scholars will judge him harshly as a sold-out Liberal. His is a site that is fond of the posts (structural, modern, colonial, Calvin and Hobbes), although most writers in that vein will think him illiterate in the texture of their ways. His is a site that tries to stand on the shoulders of Kenneth Burke, and fails, perhaps because he is too impious in his consistent critical attitude toward The Master. His is a site offered in a comic frame of dramatism; but as the photograph suggests, it is also as serious as a hooked fish suffocating.

Following is a list of titles for resources on the site. You will find a description of each resource by clicking on the page title.

Essays in Critical Rhetoric — electronic versions of published and unpublished essays under revision and construction by McGee and invited guests

Glossary of Terms — definitions and short essays on Terms of interest in contemporary rhetorical and communication theory

Gallery of Rhetoricians — photographs of many of your footnotes in their early days taken by Gina McGee at various professional conferences from 1972-2001
